We have a wide range of in-person and online events and the best bit is that all SUSU main events are FREE* this year – it’s our Welcome gift to you! All information about Welcome and our events can be found on our Welcome Website or on our social media channels. So don’t forget to follow us and keep up-to-date with all the latest from SUSU.
We can’t wait to meet you, but to ensure that we do everything as safely as possible, all our in-person events have been risk assessed, allowing you to enjoy them whilst adhering to all Government and University guidelines.
Each event will run slightly different – so make sure you check out the information on each event listing. Although it may not be what you pictured SUSU has been working all summer to plan the best possible ‘Welcome’ experience for you. We are confident that you’ll have a great start to your time at UoS and the start of a long-term relationship with SUSU. We hope you have a fantastic couple of weeks, making new friends, having fun, and learning more about life at the University!

When can I get tickets for the in-person events?
Our entertainment programme features a mix of online and in-person events. Online events are available to book straightaway with a link sent to your email confirming. You can access the event via native.susu.org or via the link in your email.
For in-person events, tickets will be available from Friday 25th September. We are deliberately holding these back to allow students chance to begin moving in.
Are there more Club and Society events taking place that are not listed?
Yes! SUSU has over 300 affiliated clubs and societies and many of them have online activities taking place listed on their social media. To find out about our clubs and societies, please visit www.susu.org/welcome
Where are the film screenings taking place? What films are being shown?
Unfortunately our outside film screenings can no longer take place due to the change in weather. Don't worry though as we are looking to add an extra series of screenings on Highfield Campus for you to instead!
We will be announcing screenings and films on Monday 5th October, so watch this space!
What will in-person events be like?
Your wellbeing is our number one priority! We are working closely with the University to ensure all in-person activity complies with government guidance and have put in a range of measures to help keep you and safe on campus and in halls.
We will be following the rule of six in all events in bars or our entertainment venues and providing table service to minimise any risk. If government guidance changes, we will update you on our activities and how we deliver them safely for you.
